Chances are you are working diligently on the never ending bridal
"to do" list, planning and preparing for the big day. You have probably
been dress shopping, looked at places to have the wedding, and even
sampled a few different wedding cakes. How much thought have you
given to getting yourself prepared for the big event? You may have already
purchased your dress, veil and shoes....but what about the other details?
Are you exercising atleast 3 times per week to ensure that you will fit
into that beautiful gown that you paid dearly for? Because you have so
much to do and so little time to do it in, you need to exercise even more
than ever now, as to reduce your stress level and curb the tendency to
overeat, which will wreak havoc not only on your waistline but your complexion
as well.
Are you taking your vitamins? B and C are especially important at this time.
Omegas will help your skin, so be sure to load up on them. You cannot get
enough bottled water into your system right now, so drink atleast one half
gallon per day. It may sound like a lot, however, it really is not and what it will
do for you is well worth it. Your weight will stay down if you stay hydrated and
your skin will remain firm and supple.
You will want to get a full leg and bikini wax one week prior to your wedding
day. Be sure to choose an experienced waxer and make certain that body hair
is atleast 1/4 inch long to ensure a successful waxing. This will eliminate nicks
and cuts from shaving and you will be smooth and stubble free for the honeymoon.
If you are going to do any tanning, I would suggest airbrush tanning. There
are many qualified airbrush tanning specialists who provide this service, including
myself. Airbrush tanning is superior to the "mystic tan" because the technician
can control where the tanning solution goes and in what increments and create
a more natural looking tan, while the mystic tan just shoots it out of the machine
and it may come out very unnatural looking and even streak or spot in some places.
One must be very careful when tanning the face, as freckles and moles will "tan"
and this can make the face appear dirty.
This is not the time to risk getting sunburned in a tanning bed or experimenting
with self tanners that can turn you orange. About 2 days before your wedding,
get airbrushed head to toe, it will give that "just back from the islands" glow and
you will look radiant walking down the aisle.
Before you tan, you will want to exfoliate your face and body very thoroughly.
It is important that you use a very gentle exfoliant on your face, and something a
bit stronger for your body, especially the knees, elbows and feet. These areas
tend to be rough and dry, and will tan darker if not properly exfoliated. Be
careful not to over exfoliate your face as it will become irritated.
Your skin should be in prime condition so that your tan comes out even
and your makeup goes on smooth. Getting a professional facial about 3
days before the wedding would be a good idea. If you are in Las Vegas,
I would be happy to do that for you. Waxing your eyebrows a few days
before the wedding and before you tan is a good idea. Do not wait until
the day of your wedding to wax them, as the skin can become irritated and
you do not want to be red and splotchy on your wedding day.
If your skin is very blemished, or just does not look very good to you,
get microdermabrasion or a chemical peel atleast 2 to 3 weeks prior
to the wedding. Choose a professional for this service or you could
be very sorry. You will find that your skin looks better than ever after
having this treatment done and you will feel more self confident about
the way you look.
This is not the time to be experimenting with a new hair color or style.
While you may want to get a trim and a deep conditioning treatment
a week before the wedding, keep it simple and do not take any chances.
